Luluko vi Britannia / Luluko Kururugi |
· Britannian · 17th Princess of the Britannian Empire · First daughter of Marianne vi Britannia · Wife of Suzaku Kururugi · Full sister to Nunnally vi Britannia · Mother to Sachiko Odette Kururugi and Yukio Etienne Kururugi · Governor-General of Area 11 ![]() Luluko was born to Charles di Britannia and one of his 108 consorts, Marianne vi Britannia. She is the elder of two sisters and is extremely protective of her younger sister, Nunnally. Marianne, Nunnally and Luluko were all well beloved amongst Charles' children and among many of the nobles, but some of Charles' other consorts despised them for Marianne was born common, unlike them. Charles had married her for her Knightmare Frame prowess and for being his personal Knight. The other consorts found this "lowered" them as a whole and took it out on Luluko and Nunnally. Luluko didn't care too much as she got along extremely well with the other royal children and she had Schneizel teach her chess. She learned quickly and constantly trounced Clovis when he challenged her. She was one of the children singled out as being a potential for the throne one day due to her quick wit and seemingly fantastic grasp of military tactics. She got along best with Euphemia out of her sisters other than Nunnally and the three would often be found playing in the Aries Palace deep in the heart of Pendragon. When she was ten, Japan was conquered and renamed Area 11. This would have an impact on her life but not until she was thirteen, when a young Honorary Britannian by the name of Suzaku Kururugi came before the princesses. The girls were taking a tour of the military installation with Schneizel and Cornelia, but Luluko, Nunnally, Clovis and Euphemia didn't seem to care too much about it. Other than the two elder royals, only Carine seemed to be interested. They were in front of a group of young soldiers, all of whom were Honorary Britannians. Schneizel told them that this group were to receive special training and then be installed in the military in their own countries. Luluko immediately understood that they were to be used as a rallying point for the Honorary Britannian status - but Carine caused a stir. She sniffed and said she didn't want to waste her day looking at number filth and when warned by Cornelia to behave herself, lost her temper and knocked Nunnally to the floor as she took off her shoe and threw it, striking the Japanese soldier in the chest. Nunnally started to cry as she'd scraped her knee and was bleeding, Luluko fell to her side immediately and started to try to comfort the girl. Euphie ran in front of the boy and spread her arms to block him from any more attacks by her sister and Clovis just stared at Carine in surprise as she stalked off. Luluko looked up as the boy approached her carefully, bending to one knee and holding out a bandage, his eyes on the floor and obviously scared of getting too close. She eyed him a bit warily at first, but then took the bandage and covered Nunnally's cut properly. Another few months passed and she got upset that Euphemia seemed to find reasons to go with Cornelia to the military academy all the time instead of coming to play with her and Nunnally. One day, Nunnally decided to go with her and Luluko went with her to stay close to her beloved sister. Here, Euphemia excitedly introduced her to the eleven little boys again, saying they were her friends. Luluko was shocked by that and left the room, going to sit outside and then she realized she was being watched. It was the boy that had given her the bandage and she told him to go away repeatedly, but he wouldn't move. After about twenty minutes, she gave up and signaled for him to come to her and she asked his name and why he had defied the order to leave her alone. His reply of being worried for her safety alone in the military complex surprised her so much she let him stay. Luluko after that, found herself more interested by this boy and she was disappointed when he was deployed on his first mission a few weeks later. Three months later he came back and Euphemia had somehow managed to sweet talk Cornelia and Marianne into letting her have a little "welcome home" party for the ten returned soldiers (one having been killed in action). Luluko was annoyed at herself for fretting that the dead soldier was Kururugi and was overjoyed enough when she came back she almost forgot herself, but caught herself in time to stop from giving him a relieved hug. She didn't quite understand why she was taking such an interest in the boy until she found him on the balcony talking to Euphemia. They were both laughing and talking and Luluko was utterly shocked to realize the sight of his happy face made butterflies start in her stomach but the fact the look was for her sister made a swoop of jealousy run through her as well. She left the party early to go and mope in her room, both for being stupid for getting a crush on an Eleven and for being jealous of her sister. The next day, she received a letter from Kururugi thanking her for the party and wishing her health better as she'd used the excuse of a headache to retire. Instead of tossing it on the fire, she found herself placing it in her jewelry box. A year later, the girls were instructed to choose their Knights and Luluko knew Euphemia was planning to ask for Kururugi. The two had become as inseperable as an Honorary Britannian and a Princess were able and she still felt irrationally jealous. She suspected Euphemia had feelings for Suzaku but she refused to give up on her own feelings without a fight. Luluko turned to Cornelia for help and informed the girl that Euphemia was unsure about her Knight and needed more time to think, while simultaneously making her Knight appointment official. She wanted Suzaku Kururugi. No arguments could sway her mind on it and he was sworn in as her Knight - to Euphemia's displeasure. She was happy as she finally got to spend more time with him and his deployment back to Area 11 was canceled... |
