SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Jeremiah, Luluko, Euphemia, Nunnally
WHAT: Rolo is in limbo for the parade, no assigned unit and no idea where he is headed - until a glimpse of a girl changes his life forever.

WHO: Jeremiah and his sister
WHAT: The siblings Gottwald have dinner and Jeremiah discusses his plans for Rolo Haliburton, the small orphan boy he was mentoring.
NOTES: This was written by [livejournal.com profile] sidecharacter who deserves much love and such for coming up with such a fun Jeremiah concept for this AU and for playing him against my Luluko at [livejournal.com profile] geass_alterna.

It seemed like the distance between them had made it a bit awkward to say much to one another. )

SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Suzaku, journalist
WHAT: Luluko gives her first address to the Elevens as Governor-General

WHO: Princess Luluko and Suzaku
SECONDARY CHARACTERS: Nunnally vi Britannia, Rolo Haliburton, Millay Ashford, Gino Weinberg, doctors and midwifes
WHAT: Luluko goes into labour.
RATING: PG-13
NOTES: Includes descriptions of childbirth. I have not (yet!) experienced it for myself but I am going off of accounts told to me by the women of my family. I also consulted pregnancy books to ensure I have things in the right order. Some of Luluko's quotes regarding the pain come directly from them and things they have said to describe it. If things like that squick you, I urge you not to read.
NOTES 2: Fluffy like woah. It almost killed me.
WARNINGS: Childbirth, nudity...Gino.

The little gasp Luluko gave was mostly ignored, people were used to her fretting over Suzaku's safety but the princess herself was pretty sure she'd just felt something deep in her depths. )

WHO: Princess Luluko and Suzaku
SECONDARY CHARCTERS: Nunnally vi Britannia, Rolo Haliburton and Miho the maid.
WHAT: Suzaku comes home from a two-week military mission and Luluko welcomes him home.
RATING: PG-13

She'd received word this morning that he was on his way home and she was sitting in the room closest to the front door, her handmaidens around her and her sister Nunnally and her sister's Knight, Rolo. )
empiricaljewel: (innocence)
WHO: Princess Luluko
WHAT: Luluko excuses herself from a party after realizing her feelings for Suzaku but finding hin out on the balcony talking to Euphemia. Giving an excuse of faked illness, she retires early and thinks on it far too much.
RATING: PG
NOTES: Well this turned out a lot different from what I had in mind, it was supposed to be her at the party and ended up being the after event. Maybe I'll write the actual party soon. Very introspective.

This jealousy would pass, she told herself. She loved Euphemia almost as much as she loved Nunnally - the jealousy would pass. After all, it was only over some soldier. )

Rolo Haliburton
· Britannian Orphan
· Nunnally vi Britannia's Knight
· In love with Luluko vi Britannia
· Pilot of Vincent
· Wielder of the time geass
· Hates Suzaku Kururugi

Rolo Haliburton was a Britannian boy who was orphaned as a baby and raised in a special facility where he was trained his whole life as an assassin and given a strange power called the Geass. This power gave him the ability to manipulate people's perceptions of time within a localized field.

Once he had proven his loyalty, it was decided that his special talents would likely make him a very good Knightmare Frame pilot. The simulators seemed to back up the theory and he was given the experimental Vincent Frame and promoted within the military to the rank of Major.

During a routine show for the Royal Family, Rolo caught sight of Princess Luluko vi Britannia and fell in love at first sight. He decided he would work to become her personal Knight, he had to be near her.

Using his geass power and the skills he had learned as an assassin, he changed a few documents to get himself transferred into the personal guard of Empress Marianne, under the charge of Lord Jeremiah Gottwald.

Doing so he managed to be in the Princess' presence every day and while she seemed fond of him, the Princess Nunnally seemed to pay more attention to him as they were closer in age.

He noticed the boy, Suzaku Kururugi around and dismissed him as not being a threat, it appeared Euphemia wanted him for her Knight and Rolo focused on ingratiating himself more with Luluko.

His heart was crushed when she blindsided them all and picked Kururugi instead - and to his shock, Nunnally picked him for her Knight.

Well, there went the chance to be her second at least. Still, Nunnally was a very nice girl and protecting her was Luluko's number one priority beyond anything. He still had a chance, if he kept his charge safe at all times, maybe Luluko would fall in love with him back...

Jeremiah Gottwald
· Jeremiah Gottwald.
· 28 years old.
· Britannian.
· Ex-Knight of Marianne vi Britannia.
· Single.
· Elite Knightframe pilot (Purist).
· Stationed at Area 11.

Jeremiah worked as a knight for the Empress Marianne vi Britannia. His first task as her knight was to protect her from any sort of danger – a task which he accomplished flawlessly. Well, there were a few murdered servants and knights, but the royal family themselves remained safe. Even so, Jeremiah could not let the incident go from his mind. He could not understand why or who would wish the death of the Empress and her daughters. They were relatively harmless; no true pull in how the government of Britannia should go – at least, it seemed to him to be a fairly equal amount of influence through the family as to how the other Areas should be taken care of. Of course, the true ruler of the Areas and the Empire was Charles di Britannia. So, would it not make more sense to assassinate him?

However, to speak such things aloud would be considered traitorous, even though he only meant that the logics of the attack was not quite there. It was around this time that Jeremiah began to suspect the Elevens that Empress Marianne seemed to like; that they had something to do with this attempt. Despite all that she did for them, they still clawed at her feet for more and even tried to bring her harm. This dark thought twisted in his head until he decided that he would bring peace to Japan so that no more attempts of this nature would take place – the only way to do that was to have complete Britannian control. It was then that he joined with the Purists in order to bring peace to Area 11 by denying the rights of the Japanese (soon to be named Elevens).

As for his feelings for the other children, he found that he did not mind them as much as one would think. That is, he never seemed like a person who was good for children – too busy posturing and trying to uphold the image of a knight of the royal family to play any sort of games with them. Still, he did take time to make sure that they were out of trouble for the sake of their parents' hearts; keeping a close eye on Nunnally and Luluko as they were the closest connected to Empress Marianne. He wondered if they were told the truth about the attack, about how close they had come to their perfect lives being ruined. However, it was not his place to tell them nor were they old enough to understand what had almost happened. No, that would be something the children best never become aware of.

He had nothing to do with the conquering of Area 11. Empress Marianne had chosen to stay out of such conflicts and that meant that he would have to ask well; even as his Purist brethren stormed the shores and took the cities. However, he eventually set foot on the Area when he accompanied Luluko and Nunally to it – he insisted as he felt he could not trust any of the people in Area 11 and did not wish to have to hear any news that the princesses had been murdered on their peaceful visit. He like the children – Schneizel and Cornelia – cared quite a bit about the military installation; it was nothing compared in Pendragon, but he felt that everything was second class to that.

His attention peaked when he saw that a group of Honorary Britannians were brought before the children. Jeremiah felt that this was a terrible idea and could lead to someone sliding through the ranks and bringing harm to them. Honestly, he felt that Carine had the best reaction out as the eldest – Cornelia and Schneizel being polite as they could be for their age, and not showing their disgust for the sake of appearances. Nevertheless, things seemed to deteriorate when Carine threw a shoe at one of the Honorary Britannians, Nunnally tripping (though, his concern waned slightly when Luluko went to her side), and Euphemia ran out to protect the Eleven scum. His attention focused on Euphemia in order to try to drag her back to where it was safe, among her people, before he noticed that that boy had somehow gotten past to hand something to Luluko.

Before he could act, the boy had stepped back and away from the princess – seeming to mean no harm. That was well and good, Jeremiah had fixed a good glare at him and even walked up to him after the others were not around to hear him say, "Remember your place, Eleven," to the boy.

Jeremiah thought that that had been that. The boy – from the records (yes, he had felt that he should find out who he was dealing with, who the little Number thought he was approaching the princesses Luluko and Nunnally) – was only thirteen and as such, he felt that a scare from one of the Britannian Royal Guard would keep him from bothering the princesses. Lo and behold his surprise when he saw the filth wandering around Pendragon – brought there by Euphemia. He could say nothing as the fact that Euphemia was a princess and her word was law in and of itself, but he could scowl in the brat's direction and remind him yet again to stay away from the princesses – Luluko and Nunnally. The guards of the other girls could worry about him, but his would remain unspoiled.

His worries dissipated slowly but surely when it seemed like Euphemia had something of a crush on the Eleven. It was not that he did not care for the Third Princess, but that he did not have to worry about her as much as he had to Luluko and Nunnally. He could rest easy once Euphemia announced that she wanted that Suzaku to be her knight; then Luluko could be safe from such sneaky, despicable Elevens – she could choose a nice Britannian, someone with noble blood who would be fit for her. He felt even more relieved when Luluko said that Euphemia was unsure about her choice – it meant that even the Third Princess understood that he was Eleven scum and could go back to die underneath the nameless soldiers. Needless to say the amount of cursing that he did when she announced that she wanted Suzaku to be her knight was astronomical, which was why he had to discretely excuse himself shortly after the announcement to find an appropriate place to scream.

He even tried to get Empress Marianne to agree that that boy was no good for her and to convince the Princess Luluko to change her mind; the Empress gave him a disapproving look and said that she may choose whomever she likes and as her Royal Guard, he should not say anything about it. That he was forgetting his place if he truly believed he could order the Princess Luluko, no, the Empress to go with what he believed was right. Jeremiah kept his mouth shut after that as he did not wish to be demoted and unable to care for the royal family anymore, but still kept a lookout for Luluko.

Oddly enough, despite his obvious hate for Suzaku, he seemed to be on an all right repertoire with Luluko. This may only be because he had been around her for her entire life than anything else. Perhaps, he was a little too protective of the princesses but someone had to be. Someone that could be trusted. Eventually, as time passed, suitors came to the princess's door – begging like dogs to be chosen for her husband. He filtered most of them, giving scathing reviews of their physical appearance and personality – commenting how none of them were compatible with her. The few that did get through were disregarded by Luluko, which Jeremiah always felt and odd sense of relief about and could not say why.

One day, out of the blue, Luluko phoned him about having to marry a young boy and has to be done quickly under the orders of the Emperor. Jeremiah always felt that this day would come and asked her what lucky Britannian she had chosen. She happily chirped back that it was the Knight of Seven. He had no response to her other than the smashing of some vase nearby. Shortly after that, she told him that she had to go because of "morning sickness" and the conversation ended there. Jeremiah took the time to scream the offenders name to the heavens before resisting calling the Knight of Seven to give him a few words. That would be undignified. Regardless, Jeremiah felt that Suzaku had to pay for deflowering the princess but could only piss and moan until the wedding as he realized there was nothing that he could do. Now that he was a Knight of Seven, he was technically ranked above the Royal Guard, which he still was (but happy about, mind).

Afterward, she had been punished by being sent to Area 11. Empress Marianne did not seem too concerned about the matter, only happy that she could still visit her grandchildren, which bred little confidence in Jeremiah. He could not understand it. Suzaku had proven that he was loyal to the Britannian Empire, what with his promotion to being a Knight of Seven. And yet, and yet, he could not accept him as a proper husband for Luluko. It no longer had to do with birth but about the idea of if he could really make her happy. She was still so young, and she was taken in by his looks; she didn't know what she was getting into. It was around these rants that he realized that he loved the 17th princess. Normally a person would be troubled about this, but Jeremiah felt that it gave his reason for wishing the break up and if possible death of Suzaku far more righteous. He was doing it out of love for the princess Luluko – he had to protect her from being further victimized and sullied by that boy!

Against orders by Empress Marianne, Jeremiah went to Area 11 to have a showdown with Suzaku. It goes without saying that he lost. Badly. His desires to protect the princess Luluko were shattered; the Empress Marianne had disowned him because of his blatant disregard for her orders and threatening the life of his daughter's husband. Everything that he had planned for and tried to protect had been destroyed. However, just as he was losing hope while recovering in the hospital, Prince Shneizel's scientists came to him to offer the ability to defeat Suzaku, to reclaim his title and glory.

Naturally, he accepted.

His body was altered into something like a cyborg's. He was given something called a Geass Canceller, which made little sense to him as to why he would need such a contraption. The cybernetic eye that would allow him to see past the visual spectrum felt that it was enough for him. However, the reason for it was that a secret overseer felt that it would come in handy if he was to take the Princess Luluko from scoundrel Suzaku's thieving arms. That was enough of a reason for Jeremiah. Now he could go and reclaim his title and keep the princess out of harm's way. But first, Suzaku.
