WHO: Princess Luluko
WHAT: Luluko excuses herself from a party after realizing her feelings for Suzaku but finding hin out on the balcony talking to Euphemia. Giving an excuse of faked illness, she retires early and thinks on it far too much.
RATING: PG
NOTES: Well this turned out a lot different from what I had in mind, it was supposed to be her at the party and ended up being the after event. Maybe I'll write the actual party soon. Very introspective.

Luluko sat in her room, agonizing over what she had realized this evening. Her heart twisted jealously but her tummy seemed to tingle. She punched her pillow in annoyance. This wasn't fair!

Sighing in annoyance, she stood and started to strip off her clothing and wrapped a silken violet dressing gown around her nude body. Already her younger sister, Euphemia, was the possessor of a B-cup chest. Luluko cupped her own A-cups and cursed them for being too small. Then she cursed herself for caring. Why would it even matter if Su- if the Kururugi boy liked a bigger chest? He was a soldier. A mere number - Luluko was the seventeenth princess of the realm and in line for the throne. She shouldn't even care about him, but for some stupid reason, she did and it irritated her.

Tonight was just a bit too fresh for calm and collected thinking and despite having claimed exhaustion and a headache, Luluko was neither tired nor sickly.

She opened the window and looked out over the celebrated lawns belonging to Marianne vi Britannia and she realized she could see the balcony from here where Suzaku and Euphemia had been talking. Surprisingly, Euphemia was not there, but the solider was. The boy was looking out over the gardens and Luluko found herself watching him, she wondered what he was thinking about and thought bitterly to herself that it was probably about her sister. Then his head turned and their eyes met, their gazes locking on each other. He then nodded his head and bowed to her and she froze in fear. The dressing gown was too dark in colour to reveal anything - but she'd feigned a sickness and now she was caught looking out of her open window and down at a boy on the balcony. She blushed from head to foot and sincerely hoped she was far enough away from him that he could not tell.

She saw a smile spread across his face and she lifted her hand and gave him a slight wave, keeping it formal and gentle so as not to arouse suspicion. Then a pink-haired girl popped back into view and the boy's attention was diverted from the girl in the window.

She sighed and stepped back from the window and started to draw herself a bath, unknowing that her window was still being watched even though all that now could be seen were her white lace curtains blowing slightly in the breeze.

The warm bubble bath helped soothe her immensely and she soaked for a while, lifting a scoop of bubbles to her lips and blowing, watching them as they floated gently around her.

After drying herself off and tying her long wet hair into a plait so that she'd have slight curls tomorrow as she felt a change was in order, the princess slipped into bed and drifted off to sleep.

Morning came and she dressed, brushed her wavy hair and went to enjoy breakfast with her mother, Nunnally and Euphemia. Keeping her emotions to herself, she kissed them all in greeting (though, as usual Nunnally got the most loving one) and sat to the table.

This jealousy would pass, she told herself. She loved Euphemia almost as much as she loved Nunnally - the jealousy would pass. After all, it was only over some soldier.

A letter was pressed into her hands by her maid as she left the table to take a morning stroll in the gardens and she took it and went to her favourite little secluded gazebo on the grounds and opened it.

Your Royal Highness Luluko vi Britannia,

I wan- We wanted to write to you on behalf of the unit to thank you for the welcome home party you allowed us to have last night.

It meant a lot to us and I just wanted to thank you for it.

I am sorry you felt unwell and I hope you feel better this morning.

We hope to see you soon, we have been told I am not being deployed again for some weeks.

Regards,

Suzaku Kururugi, Warrant Officer.

Luluko could see the conflict he had had between putting 'I' and 'we' in the letter and she got the impression he was trying to make it as formal as possible and she smiled. She wondered if he realized how often he had written as himself instead of as a representative of his unit.

Those little butterflies started again and she wondered if maybe he had written to Euphemia as well. A small smile spread across her face as she thought if he had, the letters would have arrived at the same time. But only she had received mail this morning.

The letter was tucked away later in her jewelry box, a little thumbed from having been read over a few times. Then she scolded herself for allowing silly feelings to cloud her judgment and went to find Clovis for a game of chess.

Still, the small smile never left her face for the remainder of the day.

I'm glad you liked!

I'm not writing it totally in order, more just what I feel like penning at the time, but I'm enjoying it!
